Lauren and Ken’s big day was all things romantic. The air was chilly and the soft drizzle of rain throughout the day made for beautiful luminescent light. Here in the Pacific Northwest our winters predictably bring rain for days on end. For a bride this can be a bit of a challenge to imagine her big day. Trust me though, nothing is sacrificed in terms of beauty and romance. All it takes is just a bit of creativity and know how to get the shots you’re dreaming of. While it was raining we utilized all the covered outdoor areas at the church, and the minute it stopped raining we raced out to shoot in the serene and pretty gardens at Calvary Chapel Olympia.
I think the favorite part of my day was when Lauren’s bridesmaids saw her for the first time (check out the photo below to see what I mean); the goofy and dapper groomsmen (they were one of the funniest groups I’ve ever worked with); and the couples grand sparkler exit. There were still a ton of guests and everyone was pretty excited to light up a sparkler and send the couple off. There is nothing sweeter than seeing a couple in love, but when the guests and the wedding party are equally as excited it’s pure magic.
Congratulations Lauren and Ken! Here’s wishing you many years of happiness and joy!
Happy weekend newlyweds! xo
