I'm going to drop some knowledge on you... Did you know that the correct way to address a member or fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons is to use the title Mr, Miss, Mrs or Ms (not Dr)? This system which applies only surgeons, (not physicians) has its origins dating back to the 16th century, when surgeons were barber-surgeons, and did not have a medical degree (or any formal qualification), unlike physicians, who held a University medical degree.
For those of you who know me, you know I'm a science geek at heart! And I acquired this knowledge way back when I took a trip to London and spent almost an entire day at The Hunterian Museum. Located inside the Royal College of Surgeons, this museum is free to all, and packed with exhibits ranging from the history of vacations, the history of medicine, etc.
So what in the world does this have to do with Kalyn and her senior photography session? Well, she loves medical history. So much so that she plans to study the history of medicine. A girl after my own heart! Perhaps someday this bright star will travel to London and drop some knowledge on The Hunterian Museum and leave her mark. In the meantime, enjoy viewing the photographs taken at Fort Ward Park (especially the hidden little gem of a spot Kalyn picked)!
Congratulations Kayln & all the very best to you as you reach for the stars!
