Our week spent in the south shores of Kauai pretty much looked like this:
Wake up to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach - eat croissants and drink coffee - make up games to play with our 3 year old daughter and her Carebear figurines - go to the beach at 8 - come home at noon - shower - enjoy a nice lunch at a local restaurant - come home - change back into swimsuits & go to the pool for the afternoon - grill some dinner & drink some wine - sit on our deck and snuggle under the stars - sleep - repeat
While we did manage to take a few day trips to some extraordinarily beautiful spots, we did not in fact attend anyinfamous luau's, or watch sunsets from the decks of exotic resorts, or swim with gigantic sea turtles. Instead, we were pretty much beach bums. And you know what? It was exactly what we needed.
Our best family trip EVER!
